Zoho CRM - Increased Character Limits for Module and Field Labels

Zoho CRM is doubling the character limits for module, subform module and field labels. Integrations that validate the current limits should be reviewed before the change lands.

Zoho CRM has announced an upcoming increase to the maximum character limits for module and field labels, rolling out in phases.

  • The module label limit rises from 25 to 50 characters.
  • The subform module label limit rises from 25 to 50 characters.
  • The field label limit rises from 50 to 100 characters.
  • The change is intended for organisations whose business terminology does not fit the current limits, removing the need for abbreviations.
  • The enhancement is platform-wide rather than tied to an API version, so the new limits apply across all supported API versions once live.
  • If you use the Modules or Fields APIs to create or update labels, the increased limits apply on any POST or PUT endpoint that supports label changes.
  • Review your applications and integrations for client-side or server-side validation that enforces the existing label lengths, and update it.

Availability: Rolling out in phases across all Zoho CRM data centres over the coming days.
