Zoho CRM - More Flexible Approval Process Configuration

Zoho CRM is releasing a revised Approval Process configuration experience in phases, with changes to naming, stage-level actions and approval history.

• Rules are no longer just auto-numbered; you can give each rule you add to a process a name.
• You can name each approval stage, so it is clear what kind of review it is and which team, group or user is responsible.
• A field update action is now available at each stage, letting you set any field to any value once that stage is approved, using either a new or an existing field update.
• With the parallel order of approval you can now set entirely independent field update actions against a different field for every approval, rather than one field transitioning through all of them.
• An Assign Task for Approvers option is now available at every stage, so you can assign specific tasks to that stage's approver.
• You can associate or create an email notification as an action on rejection, matching the existing notification on approval.
• The rejection notification supports a broader range of recipients, additional email addresses, and CC and BCC configuration, in line with the standard Email Notification feature.
• Process Admin Settings has been renamed Rule Admin Settings.
• The parallel order of approval now shows an approval pipeline view when you save the configuration, listing stage names, approvers, assigned tasks and field update details.
• Approval History has been rebuilt with a Tabular View alongside the existing Narrative View.
• Jump to Timeline lets you move straight to key moments in an approval, and a Filter option narrows the history to specific criteria.
