Zoho Books - May 2026 Updates

Zoho Books' May 2026 release brings a wide range of updates spanning UK MTD filing, Corporation Tax, AI custom fields, banking controls, and the Zoho Inventory add-on.

• Multi-business configuration for MTD Income Tax filing is now supported in a single organisation when the business type is Sole Trader. Since MTD Income Tax filings are linked to an individual's National Insurance Number, all business activities for that individual can now be reported together rather than across separate organisations.
• Corporation Tax and Final Accounts have been enhanced with support for Capital Allowances within the Corporation Tax computation flow, intelligent account mapping to FRS 105 sections in Final Accounts, and support for Corporation Tax Amendments so you can regenerate and resubmit updated returns to HMRC.
• Receipt Scans are now available for free in Zoho Books. Check the pricing page to see how many scans are included on your plan.
• New AI-powered custom field data types: Image to Text (extract handwritten or printed text from images, generate descriptions, identify objects), Keyword Extraction (auto-identify keywords from text inputs), and Sentiment Analysis (classify text as Positive, Negative, or Neutral). Enable these under Settings, Organization, AI Preferences.
• Configure accessibility preferences such as adjusting text spacing, underlining links, adding strikethrough to disabled buttons, and quick access to keyboard shortcuts. Access this via your profile menu under Accessibility Preferences.
• User-level account segmentation in Banking lets admins assign specific bank accounts to individual users based on their roles, with segmented access control at the role level and user assignment when creating or editing bank accounts.
• A new Dissociate and Add as Credit option when deleting bill payments linked to vendor advances retains the dissociated amount as a Vendor Advance, so the credit can be applied to future transactions instead of being recreated manually.
• Advanced Filters in Reports now support the Include Child Options setting for reporting tags, so all associated child options are automatically pulled into the report filter.
• Filter challans by payment date range to export only those that fall within the selected challan payment date range.
• Custom Modules are now available in the Zoho Books Android app.
• Report exports now support displaying organisation details. Configure Report Layout lets you set organisation details for standard and custom reports, and adjust them at export time.
• In the Zoho Inventory add-on, a new warehouse filter on the Purchase Receive creation page lets you filter and receive items by the warehouse associated with each line item in a Purchase Order.
