Zoho Forms - Password-Protected PDFs

Zoho Forms can now password-protect the PDFs generated from form submissions, set up from the Default PDF Editor. The password can be built dynamically from the respondent's own answers so each PDF is unique to the person who submitted it.

Zoho Forms has added PDF password protection to the Default PDF Editor, so a password is required before a submission PDF can be opened.

  • Submission PDFs can be locked with a password, which is useful where they contain signed agreements, applications or personal health information.
  • The password does not have to be static; you can build it from the respondent's own answers.
  • For a client intake form, for example, you could combine the client's first name, date of birth and a fixed word, giving every PDF a unique password tied to the person who submitted it.
  • To enable it, go to the PDF Editor, open My Templates, hover over the template, open the ellipsis menu and click Settings.
  • In the Template Settings popup, tick the Password Protection checkbox.
  • If you already generate PDFs from submissions, setup takes under a minute.
